On December 16, SOCAR and "Romgaz" signed an agreement on the supply of gas from Azerbaijan to Romania and starting from January 1, 2023, Azerbaijan will further expand the geography of gas supply to the European market, said President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at a plenary session dedicated to the signing of the "Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of development and transfer of Green energy in Romania.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasised the significance of this agreement for boths sides adding that the European Union needs to ensure energy security, and Azerbaijan needs a reliable market for its huge energy sources.
